Position Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with Behavior Experience

Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a reputable local Blackburn with Darwen Primary School for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with experience in behavior management. This position is specifically for Key Stage 2 and offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic educational environment.

Job Description:

Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with Behavior Experience
Location: Blackburn with Darwen Primary School
Start Date: September 2024
Working Hours: 8:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Contract Type: Initially Temporary, Potential for Permanent

Responsibilities:

Supporting Learning: Assist in the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning activities tailored to the needs of Key Stage 2 students.

Behavior Management: Utilize your experience and skills in behavior management to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Provide support to students with challenging behaviors, implementing strategies to promote positive behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.

Individualized Support: Work closely with teachers to identify individual student needs and provide targeted support and intervention where necessary.

Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assist in the assessment of student progress, recording observations, and providing feedback to teachers to inform future planning.

Collaborative Work: Collaborate with colleagues, including teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other support staff, to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students.

Administrative Tasks: Undertake administrative tasks as required, including maintaining accurate records and contributing to reports and reviews.

Requirements:

Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or equivalent role.
Demonstrated experience in behavior management, particularly in supporting students with challenging behaviors.
Knowledge of Key Stage 2 curriculum and teaching strategies.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
Relevant qualifications and training in education and/or behavior management (e.g., HLTA qualification, behavior management training).
Flexibility, adaptability, and a proactive approach to supporting student learning and well-being.How to Apply:
