Are you an experienced project manager with experience within the higher education sector?
We're seeking a dynamic individual to join our clients team on a freelance basis, focusing on RIBA Stages 1 and 2 for higher education refurbishment projects. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of transforming educational environments and driving innovation within the industry.
As a freelance project manager, you will be responsible for overseeing feasibility studies and initial stages for Higher Education refurbishment projects, adhering to RIBA Stages 1 (Preparation and Brief) and 2 (Concept Design). You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and university stakeholders to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Role responsibilities will include but are not limited too:
* Conduct thorough feasibility studies to assess the viability of Higher Education refurbishment projects.
* Work closely with university stakeholders to understand their requirements, objectives, and constraints.
* Collaborate with architects and design teams to develop innovative and sustainable concepts that meet the needs of the university and its community.
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
* Coordinate with contractors and consultants to ensure that designs are executed according to specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
* Communicate regularly with project stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a project manager, preferably within the education sector or similar.
* Strong understanding of RIBA Stages 1 and 2 and experience working on feasibility studies and concept design.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Proficiency in project management tools and software.
* Qualifications in project management or a related field are desirable.
