High Needs Teaching Assistant – Care or TA Experience is Essential

We’re looking to appoint some energetic and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work as part of a wider team at an outstanding special school in Redruth on a fixed term contract, initially until 31/08/2024. Working hours for Teaching Assistants at this school vary according to work base. Lower School (Illogan) TAs work 9:00 am – 3:40 pm. Upper School (Redruth) TAs work 8:50 am - 3:30 pm.

The role of an SEN Teaching Assistant at this school may change during the day, dependent upon the support needs of each pupil. The successful candidates will be required to work alongside class teachers and other support staff and to follow any recommendations / guidance from multi agency teams.

Requirements:

Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviours, severe physical and/or learning difficulties is essential for this position.
A warm and empathetic personality is vital, as is a desire to work professionally with others to ensure we provide the best possible support for our pupils.
A commitment to continuing professional development is necessary; we work closely together and roles may be interchangeable to meet children’s needs.
We are committed to safeguarding children and the successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
