About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a dedicated SEN school in Stoke-By-Nayland. This is a rewarding opportunity to take on a more advanced support role, working closely with teaching staff to deliver high-quality learning experiences for pupils with Special Educational Needs.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
Lead whole-class sessions when required
Provide targeted support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning needs
Support the implementation of EHCPs and individual learning plans
Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress
Mentor and support other support staff within the classroom
Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
Requirements
HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience
Previous experience working within an SEN setting
Strong understanding of SEN needs, including ASD and SEMH
Confident leading lessons and managing classroom behaviour
Excellent communication and organisational skills
A patient, resilient, and proactive approach
