Looking for a flexible HGV Technician role where you’re not boxed into a rigid shift pattern? This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Mechanic, HGV Fitter or Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a supportive and well structured workshop in Wellingborough.
This role offers a strong foundation with Pay From £20 Per hour, alongside ongoing training and development including BPW and LOLER, making it ideal for someone who wants stability, variety and long term progression.
Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Diagnose, repair and maintain HGVs and trailers to DVSA and manufacturer standards
Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance to a high standard
Support roadside repairs when required
Maintain workshop standards, tools and inventory levels
Complete all job cards and compliance documentation accurately and on time
Work collaboratively within a skilled and professional workshop team

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Essential
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
Level 3 HGV Maintenance qualification or equivalent (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI)
Strong understanding of DVSA compliance standards
Full UK driving licence
Desirable
Experience working in a mixed HGV and trailer environment
Roadside breakdown experience
