Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 basic + overtime
Overtime: Time & ½ after 45 hours
Hours: Monday to Friday, day shifts
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a well-established and growing commercial vehicle workshop based in Trafford Park.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic to join a reputable business with a strong customer base and a commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship.
The successful candidate will play an important role within the workshop, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a range of heavy commercial vehicles.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles
* Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults
* Completing preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections
* Carrying out repairs efficiently and to a high standard
* Ensuring all work is completed in line with health, safety and compliance requirements
* Maintaining accurate records of work completed
* Working effectively as part of a professional workshop team
* Supporting the day-to-day operation of the workshop
About You
We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV Technician who can demonstrate:
* Previous experience working as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician
* Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
* Experience working on HGVs, trucks or heavy commercial vehicles
* A recognised qualification such as NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is desirable
* An HGV Licence is desirable but not essential
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* A professional approach and strong attention to detail
* A commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship
