HGV Technician

Description:

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable and established commercial vehicle dealership in Newport, for the position of HGV Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Technician to join a well-known business with a proud history of over 100 years. The successful HGV Technician will be responsible for delivering high-quality service and repairs within a busy workshop environment, contributing to the ongoing success and customer satisfaction of the dealership.

Benefits:

Starting salary of up to £19 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime paid at time and a half
20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays

Full manufacturer-approved training provided
No evenings or weekends, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

Complete all service and maintenance work to the highest standards within manufacturers' timeframes
Carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of vehicle malfunctions
Document all diagnosis, repairs, safety inspections, and service activities accurately
Support colleagues with technical issues and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
Contribute to maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
Support continuous improvement and technical development within the workshopRequirements of a HGV Technician:

Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
Alternatively, extensive, long-serving, industry experience in heavy vehicle repair
Able to produce high-quality work consistently in a fast-paced environment
Strong team player with a committed work ethic
Individuals with an active Class 1/2 HGV driving licence will be considered advantageous but are not essentialThis HGV Technician position offers a stable and rewarding career with excellent training and development prospects.
