HGV Mechanic – Birtley, Tyne & Wear

We require someone who is reliable, flexible, and prepared to work hard and able to communicate on a good level with a positive attitude to Health & Safety.

This is a full-time position based in the Birtley workshop.

Requirements

* Must hold a formal qualification – NVQ Level 3 or equivalent

* Heavy plant experience will also be considered

* HGV mechanical experience is a must

* A Class 1 (C+E) licence would be preferable but not essential

* Excellent communication and team working skills

* Ability to use tools and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively

* Strong teamwork and communication skills

* Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks

* Ideally have experience working on Mercedes, Renault & Scania

* Ideally have experience working with hydraulic systems

* Full driving licence

Responsibilities

* Carry out general mechanical planned and corrective maintenance

* Prepare vehicles for MOT

* Carry out diagnostic fault identification and rectification repair

* Assist with apprenticeship training
