HGV & Trailer Mechanic
Location: Eastleigh, Hampshire
Salary: £18.50 – £19.40 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Overtime: Available at time and a half
Experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic Required – Eastleigh
We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV & Trailer Mechanic to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop based in Eastleigh.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter looking for a permanent position offering competitive hourly rates, regular weekday hours and overtime opportunities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, inspecting and repairing a range of commercial vehicles and trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carrying out safety inspections and routine maintenance on HGVs and trailers.
*
Preparing vehicles for MOT testing.
*
Conducting brake testing and associated repairs.
*
Completing welding and fabrication work.
*
Diagnosing faults and carrying out mechanical repairs.
*
Servicing and repairing rigid and articulated vehicles.
*
Working on curtain-sided and skeletal trailers.
*
Occasionally servicing and repairing light commercial vehicles (LCVs).
*
Maintaining high standards of workmanship, health and safety.
Essential Requirements
*
Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Mechanic or Fitter.
*
HGV Class 1 driving licence.
*
Valid Driver CPC.
*
Full, clean driving licence.
*
Experience working on rigid and articulated vehicles.
*
Experience with curtain-sided and skeletal trailers.
*
Ability to work flexibly when required.
An HGV Level 3 qualification or equivalent would be advantageous.
