HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver

Description:

We are currently recruiting for experienced HGV Class 2 Refuse Drivers to join our client’s waste and recycling operation.

As an HGV Class 2 Refuse Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a refuse collection vehicle and completing planned residential collection rounds. You will work closely with a team of loaders to ensure household waste and recycling is collected efficiently, safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

* Drive a Class 2 refuse collection vehicle on planned residential routes.

* Collect household waste and recycling, including black bins, mixed recycling and other domestic waste streams.

* Work closely with loaders to complete daily collection rounds safely and efficiently.

* Assist the team with loading waste when required.

* Carry out daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.

* Report any vehicle defects, damage or mechanical issues promptly.

* Complete all required paperwork and collection records accurately.

* Follow company procedures, site rules and operational instructions.

* Adhere to all road traffic regulations and health & safety requirements.

* Provide a professional, polite and courteous service to members of the public.

* Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.

Requirements

* Valid HGV Class 2 / Category C licence.

* Valid Driver CPC qualification.

* Valid Digital Tachograph Card.

* Previous HGV driving experience.

* Refuse, waste, recycling or local authority experience is desirable but not essential.

* Good understanding of road safety and health & safety procedures.

* Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.

* Good communication and customer service skills.

* Physically able to assist with waste collection duties when required.
