Description:

The HGV Driver is responsible for the day-to-day operating/driving and maintenance of allocated company plant/machinery and associated tasks/work activities.

To meet and exceed clients' needs and expectations, the company's operators      play a key role in driving and operating equipment in a skilled and professional manner, carrying out allocated tasks competently, and maintaining the allocated plant in exceptional order.

Applications from suitably qualified ex-military personnel will be relevant for this position, although all qualified candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Scope:

The HGV Driver must be aware of the needs and expectations of clients/customers and of regulatory and enforcement authorities. Your main duty is to operate and maintain allocated company equipment in order to satisfy and fulfil work requirements, and, to ensure that the Company is providing services of the highest quality with the highest standard of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities & Duties include:

Operating allocated company vehicle(s) in line with client requirements.

Regularly check and inspect allocated equipment in order to ensure reliability and appearance.

Presenting the allocated equipment for servicing and maintenance, on time and at the right place, as required by the Plant/Depot Manager.

Ensuring your Skills and Competencies are up-to-date.

Responsible for the equipment allocated to you and for tools and equipment issued either with the allocated Plant, or directly by the Plant/Depot Manager.

Ensure that tools and equipment are kept and maintained in working order at all times.  Any defect or loss must  be reported immediately to the Plant/Depot Manager, and, where applicable, submitted for repair/maintenance as required.

Compiling and submitting regular reports to the Plant/Depot Manager.

Promoting the company's safety, quality, and environmental policies and disciplines to all contacts including client's representatives.

Liaise and communicate effectively with staff/employees and clients, and provide relevant  and reasonable support and advice as necessary.

Maintaining the awareness of relevant operating standards, site rules/restrictions, safety, environmental and client/customer requirements within your work activities/duties.

Essential Skills

HGV Class 2 / ALLMI or CPCS Lorry Loader Crane Operator

Positive, flexible attitude to work and the ability to perform well under pressure.

Safety conscious at all times, observant and with good attention to detail.

Organization & commitment, understand the importance of tight schedules.

Prepared to take responsibility and be held accountable.

Approachable and reliable.

Committed to delivery and customer focused (internal and external).

Ability to establish good working relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
