Class 2 HGV Multidrop Driver – Derby

SLD Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 2 Multidrop Drivers to work on behalf of our well-established clients based in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for professional, reliable drivers looking for ongoing agency work with competitive pay, regular shifts, and the opportunity to work with leading transport and logistics companies.
The Role
As a Class 2 Multidrop Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods to a variety of commercial and residential customers throughout Derby and the surrounding areas. This is a physically active role involving multiple deliveries per shift, so applicants must be comfortable with manual handling and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects before leaving the depot.
* Complete between 10 and 25+ deliveries per shift, depending on the client and route.
* Safely load, secure, transport, and unload goods.
* Deliver products accurately and on time while maintaining a professional attitude.
* Obtain proof of delivery using handheld devices or paperwork where required.
* Follow planned delivery routes while adapting to traffic or customer requirements.
* Ensure full compliance with DVSA regulations, driver hours, and Working Time Directive rules.
* Maintain accurate tachograph records.
* Communicate effectively with transport planners and the operations team.
* Provide outstanding customer service at every delivery point.
* Keep vehicles clean and report any issues promptly.
Requirements
* Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV Licence.
* Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
* Digital Tachograph Card.
* Minimum of 6 months Class 2 driving experience preferred (applications from newly qualified drivers may also be considered depending on the client).
* No more than 6 penalty points for minor offences.
* No DR, DD, CD, IN or TT endorsements.
* Good geographical knowledge of Derby and surrounding areas is beneficial.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
