HGV Class 1 Driver

Full training and qualifications to develop specialist skills operating low loader, skip lorries, and mobile cranes up to 55 tonne capacity, HGV licence required. Site based, not on the road.

£36,692 per annum plus supplements, benefits and overtime

Location: Avonmouth

Hours: 40 hour week, starting on Saturday – Days + Overtime

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Class 1 Lorry Driver (C+E) to support the safe and efficient movement of plant, equipment, and materials around 2 operational sites in Noh Bristol. Driving on the road between both sites is a part of the role.

The position provides a consistent place of work, rather than on the round, with a structured 40-hour week based around a Saturday start, supporting operational and engineering requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate C+E class vehicles in line with company procedures and road transport regulations.
• Transport plant, machinery, and materials using low loader and skip lorries.
• Assist with the movement and positioning of equipment, including supporting mobile crane operations (training provided).
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and ensure defects are reported and recorded appropriately.
• Ensure all loads are secured, compliant, and transported safely.
• Maintain accurate delivery, collection, and vehicle records.
• Work closely with operational teams to support planned movements and site activities.
• Adhere to all health & safety requirements, including site rules and PPE standards.
• Maintain a clean and professional vehicle and working environment.

Essential Requirements:

• Full UK C+E (Class 1) driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
• Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Good understanding of driver hours, tachograph regulations, and road safety requirements.
• Strong awareness of health & safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Willingness to undertake specialist training (low loader, skip lorries, mobile cranes).
• Good communication skills and ability to work with site teams.

Desirable Requirements:

• Previous experience operating low loader or skip lorries.
• Experience working in construction or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of plant and machinery handling.
• Experience assisting with or operating lifting equipment.

• Preferable: CPCS Loader / Securer (A50) and CPCS Skip Handler (A39), or equivalent NPORS accreditation. MPQC
