VNA Recruitment are currently recruiting for an HGV 1 Driver for our client in Bury St Edmunds.
Are you an experienced HGV 1 Driver with a passion for the open road? Do you thrive in the calm of night-time driving? Our client is a well-established logistics company, renowned for their excellent service and commitment to their staff.
Key Responsibilities:
* Safely operate a double decker trailer, ensuring the secure transport of goods
* Conduct overnight deliveries to various locations, adhering to scheduled routes and times
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including log books and delivery notes
* Ensure compliance with all road traffic regulations and company policies
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to resolve any issues that may arise during deliveries
* Load and unload goods as required, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
Requirements:
* Valid HGV 1 (C+E) licence
* CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification
* Digital tachograph card
* Proven experience driving double decker trailers preferred
* Strong understanding of UK road networks and traffic laws
* Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
* Good physical condition, capable of handling loading and unloading tasks
* Flexibility to work night shifts and occasional weekends
