Field Service Engineer – Heavy Plant
Location: North East England
Salary: £19.50 per hour + Overtime
Elite Consultancy Network are currently recruiting on behalf of an established construction equipment and heavy plant business who are looking to add an experienced Field Service Engineer to their North East service team.
This is a mobile position supporting customers throughout the region, carrying out servicing, maintenance, breakdown repairs and diagnostics on a range of heavy plant and construction machinery.
We are looking for an Engineer who is confident working independently in the field and has strong mechanical, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding skills.
The Role
You will be responsible for:

Servicing and maintaining heavy plant and construction equipment
Attending customer breakdowns throughout the North East
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
Carrying out repairs and helping minimise machine downtime
Completing planned preventative maintenance and inspections
Using diagnostic equipment to identify faults
Repairing and replacing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical components
Liaising with the Service Controller regarding job progress and additional work
Identifying required parts and follow-up repairs
Completing service reports and job documentation
Carrying out machine inspections, preparation and handovers where required
Providing a professional service to customers on siteThe Candidate
We are interested in speaking with experienced:
Field Service Engineers | Plant Engineers | Plant Fitters | Mobile Plant Fitters | Heavy Plant Engineers | Construction Plant Engineers
Ideally, you will have experience working with equipment such as:
Excavators | Telehandlers | Rollers | Material Handlers | Dumpers | Crushers | Screeners | Other Construction Plant
Candidates from closely related sectors such as agricultural machinery, powered access, material handling/forklifts or HGV/commercial vehicles may also be considered where the technical experience is transferable.
Experience with manufacturers such as JCB, Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Hitachi, Liebherr, Develon, Doosan, Hyundai, Takeuchi, Kubota, Manitou, Bobcat or SANY would be advantageous but is not essential.
You should have strong experience across:

Mechanical repairs and fault finding
Hydraulic systems
Electrical diagnostics
Diesel engines
Mobile/field-based servicing
Customer-facing breakdown workA full UK driving licence will be required.
Package

£19.50 per hour
Overtime available
