Position: Health & Wellbeing Officer

Location: Cardiff Central

Salary: Competitive rate of pay (starting at £100 per day)

Contract: September start, full-time

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health and Wellbeing Officer to join our Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team at a School/College based in Central Cardiff. This role will involve supporting students who are vulnerable or facing emerging wellbeing or welfare needs. The successful candidate will have a vital role in providing therapeutic strategies and support to students in difficult or challenging circumstances, as well as acting as a liaison between pastoral tutors and internal and external services.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborating with the Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team to provide support and interventions for students in need;
Working with students facing challenging circumstances, providing therapeutic strategies and support;
Liaising with pastoral tutors to ensure students receive appropriate support and signposting to external services when necessary;
Keeping accurate records and maintaining a computerised administrative system and database;
Providing relevant training in therapeutic mental health support, such as Thrive;
Supporting the team with organisational and administrative tasks.
Requirements:

Minimum NQF level 3 or equivalent experience demonstrating high levels of literacy, numeracy, and analytical skills;
Proficient in standard office applications, including Outlook, MS Word, and Teams;
Relevant training in therapeutic mental health support, such as Thrive;
Excellent organisational and administrative skills;
Experience with computerised administrative systems and databases.
