3. Do you have a recognised Health & Safety qualification, in-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience in a Health & Safety, Governance, or Risk Management role?

4. Can you work onsite in Birmingham, Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm for 1 month and maybe longer?

Your World Recruitment is seeking to appoint an experienced and enthusiastic Health & Safety Officer to join our clients Healthcare organisation based in Birmingham, ideally as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member. Your role primarily will focus on ensuring the safety of staff and service users through comprehensive inspection, audit, and incident investigation.

Hourly Pay Rates:

£17.98 – 21.72 Paye Inclusive of holiday

Pay Rates above are dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Audit:

* Conduct regular inspections and audits across NHS facilities to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.

* Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks.

* Prepare detailed reports of inspections and audits, highlighting areas of concern and suggesting improvements.

Incident Investigation:

* Manage thorough investigations into health and safety incidents, ensuring accurate documentation and analysis of findings.

* Collaborate with relevant departments to implement preventive measures and improve safety protocols based on investigation outcomes.

* Maintain detailed records of all incidents, investigations, and corrective actions.

Safety Programs and Training:

* Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for staff to promote a culture of safety within the organization.

* Keep abreast of new legislation, best practices, and industry standards related to health and safety.

* Support the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures.

Risk Management:

* Assist in the identification, assessment, and management of risks related to health and safety.

* Work closely with the governance and risk management teams to ensure a coordinated approach to safety and risk management.

* Provide expert advice and support on health and safety matters to all levels of staff.

Compliance and Reporting:

* Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and NHS guidelines.

* Prepare and submit regular reports on health and safety performance to senior management.

* Participate in health and safety committees and working groups as required.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

A recognised qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, or equivalent).

In-depth knowledge and demonstrable experience in a Health and Safety, governance, or risk management role.

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and best practices.

Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly and concisely to various audiences.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Proficiency in using standard MS office software and health and safety management systems.

Desirable Skills:

Experience working within the NHS or a healthcare setting.

Experience in developing and delivering training programs.

Certification in incident investigation techniques.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
