Health & Safety Officer Opportunity! This role is based in County Durham.

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?
This is a full time, permanent position.
Salary, Circa 39k Per Annum, Negotiable DOE
Days only, Monday to Friday working hours, early finish on Fridays – 12pm
Holiday package – 26 days + Bank Holidays
Flexible start times, to be agreed with client upon start
Bonus structure applicable, up to 5% of yearly salary based on individual objectives
Training & Development Opportunities, client is very focused on upskilling.

THE BUSINESS
 Our client is a world-renowned manufacturing business, the business is experiencing an ongoing period of growth, a trajectory that looks set to continue. Our client offers a high degree of technical expertise, their highly skilled team supports contractors and end users at all stages of their projects. Our client is situated in County Durham.

THE ROLE

Ensuring Health & Safety is prioritised throughout all aspects of the business
Mentoring, coaching & educated staff members of all disciplines
Manage application and adherence of ISO 45001:2018 management system, including the interaction
Consistently measuring safety performance against standard metrics and driving improvement to key H&S principles.
Manage external contractors and reporting to engage the business in improvements.
Ensure compliance to legal regulations, HSE guidelines and associated ACOPs.
Support and drive continuous improvement activities by collecting data, performing analysis and recommending new initiatives
Liaise with and drive action with department managers to root cause analysis and preventative measures and advising staff on how to minimise the level of risk in the workplace.
Training employees to help them manage, monitor, and improve general health and safety standards.
Integration with ISO 9001:2015/ ISO 14001:2015, and bi-annual audits
H&S cost management relating to internal, external, and outside processing relationships and activities
Managing emergency procedures and emergency teams such as first aiders.
Developing new health and safety programs and strategies.   
  
             THE PERSON + ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

NEBOSH General certificate or above is essential for this role
Auditing experience within HSE. Lead Auditing knowledge/experience would be hugely beneficial but not a requisite
Strong personality who enjoys coaching, guiding & mentoring staff of all levels
A strong willingness to continue your own self development & learning.
