Description:

Health & Safety Manager - Store Development & Construction

Salary: £60,000-£70,000 + Benefits

We're partnering with a globally recognised retail and hospitality brand to recruit an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support the safe delivery of its ambitious store development programme across the UK.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety professional who has extensive experience within store development, retail fit-out, construction or refurbishment projects. You will play a key role in ensuring all new store openings, refurbishments and construction activities are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with best practice.

This role has a national remit, supporting projects across the UK, so regular travel to sites will be required.

Please note: Experience in Health & Safety within store development, retail construction, fit-out or similar environments is essential. Applications without this background are unlikely to be considered.

The Role

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you'll be responsible for driving Health & Safety across the property, construction and store development function, working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and external partners.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading Health & Safety across new store openings, refurbishments and construction projects.

Ensuring compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations.

Providing expert guidance to project managers, property teams and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Carrying out site inspections, audits and risk assessments to maintain the highest safety standards.

Reviewing construction methods, RAMS and contractor performance.

Investigating incidents, identifying root causes and implementing preventative measures.

Developing and maintaining Health & Safety policies, procedures and training.

Building strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors to create a positive safety culture.

Travelling nationally to support project teams, conduct site visits and ensure consistent Health & Safety standards are maintained across all locations.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional who can demonstrate:

Proven experience managing Health & Safety within store development, retail construction, fit-out or refurbishment projects.

Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.

Experience working with multiple contractors across fast-paced project environments.

NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent qualification).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

The ability to influence at all levels and drive a proactive safety culture.

A full UK driving licence and the flexibility to travel nationally as part of the role.

What's on Offer

Salary: £60,000-£70,000.

Excellent benefits package.

Opportunity to join a globally recognised retail and hospitality brand with an exciting pipeline of store development projects.

A collaborative, supportive culture where you'll have genuine influence on business-wide Health & Safety standards.

A national role offering exposure to a diverse range of store development and construction projects across the UK.

If you're an experienced Health & Safety professional with a background in store development, retail construction or fit-out, we'd love to hear from you.
