Health, Safety & Facilities Manager
Location: Leicestershire Salary: Competitive Hours: Days, 8:00am – 4:30pm Sector: Manufacturing / Warehouse
Our client, a well-established and highly respected manufacturing business, is looking for an experienced Health, Safety & Facilities Manager to join their Operations team on a permanent basis. This is an urgent requirement, so early applications are strongly encouraged.
You'll take ownership of health, safety and facilities compliance across the site, playing a key role in keeping the workforce safe while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
The Role
As Health, Safety & Facilities Manager, you will:
* Develop, implement and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with current regulations
* Conduct risk assessments for employees, workstations and job roles, ensuring effective control measures are in place
* Lead site audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risk
* Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, and implement corrective actions
* Ensure compliance with fire safety, hazardous material handling, noise regulations and machinery safeguarding
* Deliver health and safety inductions and ongoing training for staff, including fire marshalling and first aid
* Recommend and oversee the use of PPE where required
* Oversee facilities maintenance, including fire alarm systems, HVAC, electrical infrastructure and security systems
* Manage external contractors, ensuring RAMS are provided and reviewed before work begins
* Maintain accurate records of risk assessments, inspections, incident reports and maintenance logs
* Monitor legislative changes and update policies and procedures accordingly
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience as a Health, Safety & Facilities Manager (or similar) within a warehouse or manufacturing environment is highly desirable
* IOSH General Certificate required
* NEBOSH qualification advantageous, or strong practical health and safety experience
* Facilities or maintenance management experience desirable
* Confident user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams)
* Sound understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act
* Strong administrative and organisational skills
* A positive, proactive, can-do attitude
