Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor
Bedfordshire | £40,000 - £50,000 + Car and Excellent Benefits
Irwin and Colton have been engaged by a UK-leading, Highways Specialist Contractor to identify a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor. The organisation has an existing health and safety team and is well known for their excellent track record of delivery within the sector.
This role will work closely with Highways focusing across one of the organisation's major framework projects in the Bedfordshire area. As such, any experience with Highways or Highways England would be beneficial but not essential.
Responsibilities of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor will include:
Implementing health and safety policies and procedures on site, ensuring compliance and keeping updated with key changes to legislation
Visiting site and engaging with managers, ensuring responsibilities are clear and answering technical Health and Safety related enquires
Conducting audits, inspections, and accident investigations. Constantly seeking areas for improvement and development in health and safety performance
Engaging with the client and other external stakeholders, acting as a key point of contact The successful Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor will have:
Experience in a similar role ideally within construction, Highways or Civil Engineering.
Hold a NEBOSH Certificate and ideally a member of IOSH
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
