Health, Safety & Fire Risk Assessor (Housing)

Home based with travel throughout London and the South-East

Salary up to £42,500 (increasing to £45k upon successful completion of a Level 4 Diploma), plus £5,800 car allowance. Total package of up to £48,300 per annum.

Permanent, 37.5 hours per week

Anchor are the largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for older people in England, we manage 60,000 homes for people in later life across almost 1,700 sites and operate in over 85% of local councils in England.

The Housing Services directorate comprises of Rented, Homeownership, Extra Care and Customer Services teams and approximately 1,800 colleagues.

The role

As the Health, Safety & Fire Risk Asessor, you will provide a comprehensive health, safety and fire (HS&F) service to Anchor’s housing locations within your region, occasional overnight stays will be required.

Working as part of a national team, your responsibilities will be to carry out and review fire risk assessments, H&S audits, and training to achieve excellent levels of compliance within Anchors retirement Housing portfolio. You will also provide general HS&F advice and support by ensuring a safe environment for colleagues, customers, and visitors.

What we need from you:

Full, current driving license

Essential Qualifications:

* NEBOSH General Certificate

* Recognised Fire Risk Assessment qualification

Desirable Qualifications:

* NVQ level 5 (or equivalent) Management of Occupational Health and Safety.

* Registered on the IFE/BAFE Fire risk register or similar.

Knowledge & Experience:

* Proven track record of carrying out fire risk assessments.

* Comprehensive practical knowledge of the application of HS&F standards within the specialised housing sector.

* Good knowledge and understanding of relevant areas of compliance relating to Housing.

* A strong and proven ability to effectively communicate with and influence internal and external stakeholders, including residents.

* Application of health, safety and fire management within a Housing environment.

* Thorough knowledge of housing operations and the needs of older people.

* A good understanding of the application of fire safety management within a specialised housing setting.

* Accident/incident investigation.

* Good knowledge of MS Word & Excel.
