Description:
Our local authority client based in Coventry are urgently seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor.
Health & Safety Advisor
37 hours per week
hybrid working (1-2 days on-site plus 1 office day per week for team meeting)
£20.29 per hour
3 months+.
Applicants must also be able to travel efficiently to sites across Coventry as required.
Job Role
* Providing professional health and safety advice and guidance across a large and diverse Local Authority.
* Supporting managers with risk assessments, audits, inspections and accident investigations.
* Reviewing and developing health and safety policies, procedures and management systems.
* Delivering health and safety training, information and guidance to managers and employees.
* Monitoring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice.
* Supporting contractor management, CDM compliance and corporate health and safety initiatives.
* Producing reports, analysing incident trends and recommending preventative actions.
* Working closely with senior managers, Trade Unions, external agencies and enforcement bodies where required.
Requirements
* NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (essential).
* IOSH Membership (CMIOSH, GradIOSH or working towards Chartered status).
* Health and safety auditing, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
* Interpreting and applying health and safety legislation within complex organisations.
* Developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
* Delivering health and safety training and guidance to a range of stakeholders.
* CDM Regulations, contractor management and compliance monitoring.
