Health & Safety Advisor - M&E Contractor - Midlands

The Company:

GDS Partners is recruiting for a Health & Safety Advisor on behalf of a growing Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering a varied portfolio of projects across the Midlands.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, our client is looking to strengthen their Health & Safety team with an experienced and proactive professional. The is a multi site role will involve supporting multiple projects across the region.

The Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, site management and subcontractors to ensure high standards of Health & Safety are maintained across all projects.

This is a site-focused position offering good variety and the opportunity to join a contractor with ambitious plans for continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out regular site inspections, audits and Health & Safety reviews.
Review and assist with the preparation of RAMS and safe systems of work.
Ensure projects comply with company procedures and current UK Health & Safety legislation.
Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to project and site teams.
Monitor subcontractor compliance and promote safe working practices.
Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
Deliver toolbox talks, inductions and safety briefings where required.
Maintain appropriate Health & Safety documentation and reporting.
Work with management to identify areas for improvement and promote a positive safety culture.
Support multiple projects across the Midlands as required.
Requirements:

Previous Health & Safety experience within the construction industry.
Experience within M&E / building services would be advantageous.
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
Good understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction site requirements.
Experience with RAMS, site inspections, audits and contractor management.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with site teams and management.
Comfortable travelling between projects across the Midlands.
Full UK Driving Licence preferred. Package:
£45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience.
