Introduction
Our client is currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team in a contract role. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees, contractors, and the general public in the highways sector.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and maintain health and safety practices in accordance with industry standards and legislation.
Carry out risk assessments, inspections, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.
Develop and deliver health and safety training programs for employees and contractors.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
Monitor and assess compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
Advise on the implementation of safe working practices, including the use of personal protective equipment.
Provide guidance and support to colleagues on health and safety matters.
Keep up to date with relevant health and safety legislation and best practice.
Job Requirements
Significant experience in health and safety, ideally within the highways or transportation sector.
Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
Relevant health and safety qualifications, such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and investigations.
A proactive and solution-focused approach to health and safety.
The ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
