Currently, we have an exciting opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to join the team in Perth, Scotland for a major multi-million pound road upgrade project.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support the team in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management on a major construction project in Perth, Scotland. As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in promoting a positive safety culture and implementing effective health and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance on health, safety, and environmental matters to project teams and stakeholders.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
- Develop and implement health and safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Deliver toolbox talks, training sessions, and inductions to raise awareness and promote best practices in health and safety.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and review safety performance data, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NEBOSH or equivalent health and safety qualification.
- Proven experience in a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to safety management and a commitment to promoting a positive safety culture.
