Health and Social Care Tutor | Gillingham | Full time – 37.5 hours per week | FTE - £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience and qualifications

Our client is a non-profit making organisation which focuses on offering quality Accountancy Training and other specialist training courses.

They are now looking to add a bright and ambitious Health and Social Care Tutor to their team. This position would best suit someone who is committed to passing on their Health and Social Care knowledge and is committed to the health, safety and safeguarding of students.

In particular, the successful candidate will be responsible for the teaching/ coordination of our health and social care training, and to deliver Functional Skills in Maths or English at both levels to our Apprentices and our adult learners in small classes (of 18 learners max).

Please note- A DBS check at an enhanced level (formerly CRB check) must be undertaken by all candidates and be satisfactory as a condition of employment with The Training Place of Excellence. 

Are you the right person for the job?

Providing high-quality teaching, learning, assessment, and internal moderation across a range of Health and Social Care courses and partnership delivery
Course leading a programme and/or programmes of study in Health and Social Care, ensuring high-levels of achievement and success
Contributing to the delivery, marking, tracking, and monitoring of Health and Social Care coursework/ course programs, including learners Maths and English performance
Tutoring students, giving appropriate support to enable students to achieve their academic, vocational and employment targets
Contributing to the development and continual improvement of courses, co-ordinating effectively with both staff and students
What will your role look like?

Proven experience in a previous Health and Social Care tutor role at all Levels and the ability to explain difficult concepts in an understandable way
Experience in the Apprenticeship standards at all Levels and the End Point Assessment
Experience in assessing students’ needs and developing appropriate support strategies to encourage students to take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their work and studies
A background in Health and Social Care and relevant qualifications needed
A1 and teaching qualifications preferable
Experience in delivering Functional Skills training is preferred, but not essential
Excellent IT and communication skills with knowledge of MS packages
Ability to work in a small team, with strong attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines, a high level of commitment and absolute focus on quality of work
Ability to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the College’s Health and Safety Policies
