As a Health and Safety Technical Officer, you will work with a team of professionals dedicated to creating a safe and healthy working environment for a Local Authority based in South East London. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organisation.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting risk assessments and implementing effective control measures to minimise hazards
Carrying out DSE assessments and providing recommendations for ergonomic improvements
Developing and delivering engaging health and safety training programmes to employees
Investigating accidents and incidents, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions
Keeping up to date with changes in health and safety legislation and advising on relevant updates
Collaborating with various departments to implement and improve health and safety policies and procedures
Assisting with the development and maintenance of health and safety management systems
Conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Providing advice and support to managers and employees on health and safety mattersSkills and qualifications:
Solid knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practises
Experience conducting DSE assessments and implementing ergonomic solutions
Excellent communication skills with the ability to deliver engaging training programmes
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management
