Health and Safety Manager
Location: West Yorkshire
Salary: £45,000 + Car allowance
Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join their team specialising in the creation of energy-efficient, low-carbon homes. This is a prime opportunity to be part of a pioneering organisation dedicated to sustainable renewable energy solutions.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the implementation and management of health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and guidelines, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits on project sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
Provide health and safety training and support to all levels of staff to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
Lead investigations into any accidents or incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training logs. Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to senior management.
Monitor and review health and safety practices and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Minimum NEBOSH Certificate; NEBOSH Diploma preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in a health and safety role within the construction, engineering, or renewable energy sectors.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Attributes: Highly organised with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
