Health & Safety Manager

Salary circa £30,000 - £50,000 (package negotiable)
The company is a 30-year-old building contractor that operate in the commercial, education, healthcare and residential sectors.
There is an immediate need for a Health & Safety Manager within the business. This is succession planning due to a forthcoming retirement.
The role could suit someone who comes with 5-10 years' experience, but equally someone who is recently qualified but who has a good head on their shoulders and can learn (and benefit from) a lengthy handover with the departing Health & Safety Manager.
The role is predominantly based in their office in West London, and projects are circa 20/30-mile radius from there.
Ideal Duties / Needs:
·Qualified safety auditor
·Complete internal audits
·Keep up to date with H&S legislation, industry initiatives and Government guidance and implement across company and ensure compliance
·Accident Investigation (with assistance from external auditors) and manage employee and sub-contractor liability claims
·Sign off RAMS
·Carry out Site Audits
·Develop and manage company procedures
·Monitor company training
·Assist and contribute towards the preparation of an ISO accreditation
·Maintain site specific Construction H&S Plans
Progression:
·The position offers a great possibility to grow in their organisation - CPD is important for the company and their staff; they support all staff by putting people on relevant courses. They eventually want this role to encompass sustainability and environmental issues - the company currently has someone in house doing that, but want to free them up to do something else.
The role:
·Ideal person would spend 65% on site and auditing etc. and 35% on background stuff (sustainability and environmental issues).
·Visit each site once every two weeks. The company currently has 6 live sites, and that could shoot up to 10.
·The H&S Manager would also attend tender meetings
·Could suit someone currently carrying out their NEBOSH, just finished their NEBOSH, or finished with a few years of experience under their belt (it's all about the person and the drive and motivation they have!)
