Health and Safety Compliance Team Leader / Manager (Fixed-Term - 6 months)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Compliance Team Leader/Manager to join our team on a fixed-term basis. A recent Health and Safety audit has highlighted the need for comprehensive monitoring procedures and systems across our various sites. This role involves leading a team to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, updating procedures, and training staff on best practices.

Responsibilities:

Leading the team in updating Premises Management folders
Overseeing the implementation of recommendations from recent H&S audit
Supervising the completion of Risk Assessments
Establishing and overseeing an effective health and safety system
Conducting training for staff on safety procedures
Ensuring accurate maintenance of training records
Collaborating with volunteer-managed Community Centres

Qualifications:

H&S qualification, preferably NEBOSH certification
IOSH certification with relevant experience
Familiarity with NCC procedures
Ability to effectively manage and lead a team in the competent person role

Additional Information:

Monday to Friday schedule with flexible hours
Hybrid working model available
Mileage reimbursement for travel
Covering community buildings within the Newport Council area
Hourly rate: £18 to £20 per hour
