This is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading civil engineering company that is experiencing significant growth. We are looking for a highly skilled Health & Safety Advisor to uphold and improve our health and safety standards at an MOD site in Plymouth. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment for our employees and visitors by implementing best practises and procedures. This is a 9-month contract, with a possibility of becoming a full-time salaried position.
Day Rate: Dependent on experience
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular safety inspections and investigations of incidents, dangerous occurrences, health issues, and near misses. Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Provide advice and support to on-site and office-based staff on all aspects of our Company’s health and safety, environmental, and energy systems and procedures.
Source, plan, and deliver training to employees, ensuring it meets recognised standards.
Assess the competence of subcontractors.
Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of our Safety, Health, Environmental, and Energy Management Systems.
Conduct risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and write method statements, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
Relevant experience in health and safety.
Preferably experience in a health and safety role within the civil engineering/infrastructure sector.
Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database management.
Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
