Head of Technical - Food Manufacturing
Wolverhampton area | £70k to £80k + Bonus + Car + Pension
Our client is an established UK food manufacturer. They’re looking for a Head of Technical to take full ownership of food safety, quality and compliance across the site. You’ll report directly to senior leadership and be the person customers and auditors turn to.
What you’ll do
Lead the technical and QA team, and set the standards, KPIs and culture
Own the BRCGS system and keep the site audit-ready every day, not just audit week
Own HACCP, TACCP and VACCP, and lead the allergen strategy
Run the audits, customer visits, complaints and root-cause investigations, and make the fixes stick
Give technical sign-off on new products, reformulations, trials and launches
Be the senior technical voice to customers, auditors and regulatorsWhat you’ll bring
A knowledge of retail / FMCG compliance requirements
Technical or quality management experience in UK food manufacturing
Strong, hands-on knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP and food law
A track record of leading teams and hosting third-party and customer audits
The confidence to influence the factory floor and the boardroom alike
A degree in food science, technology or microbiology (or equivalent experience), plus HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3Why this role?
