Fantastic opportunity to secure a Head of Sourcing contract role with Smart DCC. The Head of Sourcing will be an initial 6 months contract based from London or Manchester on a hybrid working model. The Head of Sourcing will be one of the senior leaders within DCC and responsible for all Sourcing events. These range from tactical buying to strategic long-term complex £100m+ deals. The role reports into the Director of Procurement.

What will you be doing?

•           Working with C-Suite executives within and outside DCC to set and implement, sourcing and procurement strategies for all DCC’s 3rd party spend - £5bn over 10 years.

•           Providing thought leadership on sourcing models to meet the different needs of the business – from catalogue and auctions through to complex multi-year transformational procurements.

•           Providing sourcing expertise on 6 key areas: - Telecoms, Technology and IT, Security, Outsourcing, Innovation and Professional Services

•           Leadership and Development of a Sourcing team of 20, and transformation to being an outstanding team.

•           Negotiation of supplier contracts, incorporating key commercial and contractual requirements

•           An understanding or Implementation of ESG via Sourcing that aligns with the Net Zero aims by the UK Government.

•           Understanding of regulated and a non-regulated procurement and sourcing environments. Ideally with reference to secure and critical national industries.

What are we looking for?

•           Significant experience at a Senior Head of Sourcing level with a demonstrable track record of savings delivery

•           Excellent, proven level of line management experience focusing on People development

•           Outstanding track record of analytics, problem-solving, innovation and risk mitigation and someone who is solution driven, innovator, focusing on total cost and value creation

•           Strong attention to details and proven ability to work in an open / auditable way fitting to a regulated environment

•           Utilising sourcing and procurement to remove barriers to value creation, e.g., disaggregation of bespoke and long-term contracts.

•           Strong written and verbal communication. Able to moderate style to ensure effective communication to all stakeholders in a complex environment.

•           Ability to navigate and drive commercial outcomes in an audited, regulated and process driven environment.

•           Being an ambassador for the commercial capability of DCC
