The Performing & Production Arts Section at Kingston College is based at Kingston Hall Road with it’s 200 seat theatre, performance spaces, make-up room and dance studios. Around 10 permanent and variable hours staff support the delivery of a range of full time courses that span Level 2 to Level 5.

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Section to join us!

The Head of Section will lead and manage their Section and be a member of the School Management Group (SMG). The Head of Section and other members of the SMG are responsible for applying College procedures such as target setting, progress review calendars and for ensuring all curriculum delivery is of high quality and meets Awarding Body requirements. The Head of Section will drive growth and manage changes to the curriculum as required, ensure full compliance with funding body regulations and act as a Safeguarding Officer for the School.

We’d like our Head of Section to hold relevant professional qualifications, including a degree or equivalent professional qualification in an area relevant to the work in this Section – Performing & Production Arts. You should have a proven track record of improving and managing a high-quality curriculum and have a strong record of identifying interventions for improvements and executing these effectively. You should have sound knowledge of the curriculum offered, with a firm grasp of current and impending national changes and a proven record of effective curriculum development and growth.

Please note that this post is funded for the 2024/25 academic year so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2024.

Subject to a cost of living review from 1 August, the successful candidate will be eligible for any subsequent increase in salary.
