Are you an inspirational Quality Leader and strategic thinker capable of translating information into concrete results? Are you an experienced Senior Leader with the capacity to empower and steer change? This is your opportunity to shape the role of Head of Quality & Lab within our client's Manufacturing organisation. With a prestigious clientele and a strong commitment to sustainability, including ownership of an on-site waste energy plant, they are dedicated to combating deforestation. Your role will involve spearheading pivotal projects and instigating transformative change within a welcoming, values-driven environment. 

Ideally, you will have a background in Manufacturing, with a leadership approach that prioritises empowerment. Responsible for overseeing a team of 22 across lab and quality, you'll also have the chance to travel to the US and China approximately twice a year. Your mandate will be to drive impactful change by prioritising and addressing key projects.

Key responsibilities: 

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies for staff and visitors.

Foster a proactive quality culture responsive to both internal and external customers.

Define and monitor key performance indicators to improve product characteristics.

Implement and maintain procedures for the Quality Management System.

Manage laboratory testing equipment in accordance with certification requirements.

Address customer complaints and implement corrective actions within manufacturing processes.

Support problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Conduct internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.

Establish quality standards and refine documentation.

Facilitate quality meetings to drive improvements in processes and products.

Collaborate with Supplier Quality Assurance Teams to address non-conforming materials.

Ensure compliance with customer requirements and audits.

Provide clear vision and leadership to the Quality Team, fostering skill development and succession planning.

Promote employee engagement through effective communication and action.

Support recruitment, selection, and performance management of staff.

Travel frequently between manufacturing, customer, and supplier sites.

Promote an inclusive and diverse environment for team members

Experience required: 

Ideally educated to Degree level or equivalent industry experience 

Minimum of 5 years within a quality leadership role coming from a Manufacturing background 

You must have a strong quality background with knowledge of health, safety and environmental requirements 

Experience in statistical analysis and process control 

Ability to demonstrate influencing skills at a senior level 

Demonstrate being a strong leader with a coaching style that gets the best out of people 

Experience in developing KPI's to target areas of improvement
