Head of Programmes

Description:

TXM are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Head of Programmes to lead and coordinate a portfolio of cross-functional projects from initiation through to successful completion.

This is a key leadership position, responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget, while maintaining strong communication across internal teams, stakeholders and third-party partners.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent organisational and leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects within a fast-paced and technically focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in line with wider business goals.
Develop detailed project plans, schedules and resource allocations.
Coordinate internal teams and third-party suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
Manage day-to-day project activities, identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines and key deliverables.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders, project teams and senior leadership.
Lead and mentor project teams, providing direction and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct post-project reviews to identify successes, lessons learned and areas for improvement.
Ensure projects comply with company policies, procedures and industry best practices.
Identify opportunities to improve and streamline existing processes and ways of working.
Provide strong leadership across multiple programmes, ensuring priorities remain aligned with business objectives.Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in project or programme management, ideally within a technical or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from conception through to completion.
Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Excellent planning, organisational and time management abilities.
Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to resolving complex issues.
Experience identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks.
Strong financial and budgeting knowledge.
Competent with project management tools and software such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira or Trello.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively within a dynamic environment.Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering or a related discipline.
5+ years' proven experience in project/programme management or a related role.
