Polypipe Civils & Green Urbanisation, are a leading manufacturer of water management solutions, surface water drainage products, and cable protection systems, these sit alongside our Green Urbanisation offering, providing a full solution for water management. Role: The Head of Procurement will be responsible for all local spend within the Civils and Green Urbanisation that is the part of the Water Management Solutions Business Unit. As part of the role you will be responsible for end to end sourcing from project inception, sourcing and tendering, contract negotiation, execution, implementation and performance management of contracts and suppliers

Working closely with Group Procurement and key business stakeholders, both local and group, to ensure alignment with business objectives and policy requirements.

The role will be based mainly at Horncastle, though travel will be required to Loughborough and occasionally other sites within the Group.

Supporting a market-leading organisation you will be responsible for conducting and completing business critical and strategic category plans, as well as managing day to day tactical purchasing requirements. This will include risk mitigation, guaranteed material availability, whilst ensuring CGU and Genuit’s flexibility within contractual terms. Managing critical suppliers and stakeholder relationships are a key focus of the role, in addition to having experience in change management.

Cash conversion is a business KPI, therefore this role will be focused on reducing costs, extending payment terms and reducing inventory.

This role is pivotal in ensuring CGU continues to perform well and overcomes future supply challenges, whilst adhering to policies and procedures.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for sourcing and procuring goods and services for the agreed businesses; including supplier performance.

* Manager of the local procurement team.

* Ensure highest ethical principles and standards are implemented and adhered to.

* Continuously gather, analyse, interpret, and act upon market intelligence.

* Develop and maintain effective relationships across the different businesses to ensure full buy-in to the purchasing strategy and ensure targets are achieved.

* Ensure full compliance in the execution of Procurement Policies and Procedures.

* Introduce and improve the efficiency of the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process.

* Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement sustainable and innovative strategies, and to evolve the strategy as technology, markets, and business needs change, to ensure the group achieves business targets.

* Collaboration with the wider procurement team to assist and improve the functions performance and wider business.

* Plan and implement cost reduction programs that maintain quality and customer satisfaction.

* Complete KPI reporting and support business reporting processes such as the budget.

Requirements:

* A professional with experience in both operational and strategic procurement.

* Legal and contractual experience in negotiating, writing, and managing supplier contracts.

* Change management experience.

* Experienced manager to support the development of the procurement function.

* Lead the change in procurement professionalism across CGU as a member of the local senior leadership team.

* Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers.

* Demonstrable experience of leading a purchasing function with a proven track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes and systems

* MCIPS qualified.
