Our client is a private equity backed group providing services that focus on delivering comprehensive and high-quality maintenance to social housing, defence, hospitality, healthcare, education, and other sectors. With a turnover of 200mil and over 1000 employees, they are continuing to grow both organically and by acquisition.

A brand-new opportunity is available for a Head of Procurement with a proven track record of setting up procurement processes from scratch, managing internal stakeholders and suppliers and driving cost reduction and efficiency across the entirety of the organisation. The ideal candidate will be used to a fast paced environment, be hands on and have experience of buying products eg kitchens, bathroom fittings, timber, paint etc from distributors or OEM manufacturers and managing service supply from subcontractors. The successful candidate must be a good negotiator and adept at defining value eg price for the right quality of material, delivered at the right time. They will be seen as a procurement leader who is able to negotiate effectively with large companies providing materials and smaller regional sub-contractors. The business has multiple branches; therefore, it is essential to set up a central procuring function that will cater for all maintenance service provisions across the branches.

This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to put their own stamp on the role and enjoy the challenge of being part of a fast-growing business. Building relationships amd strategy to make procurement a key function in the business. There is also career progression for the right candidate to become Procurement Director within 2/3 years. The individual candidate will be expected to be in the office in Southampton 3 days a week with travel to branches and suppliers when required.
