GSL Education are seeking an experienced and dynamic Teacher to work as Head of Modern Foreign Languages and lead the department to inspire excellence in language learning in York, North Yorkshire starting in September 2024.

Head of Modern Foreign Languages Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum for Modern Foreign Languages that aligns with national standards and educational objectives.
Lead the department in designing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessment strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Lead and manage a team of MFL teachers, providing professional development opportunities and performance feedback.
Coordinate departmental meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among staff members.
Ensure compliance with school policies, examination board requirements, and statutory regulations related to MFL education.
Head of Modern Foreign Languages Requirements:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Substantial experience teaching MFL subjects at the secondary level, with a proven track record of academic success.
Leadership experience or demonstrated potential to lead a department effectively.
Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Build and maintain appropriate relationships with staff, students, and outside agencies.
Have an enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
