Salary: £34,514 - £51,179 + management allowance £10,000 per annum (MPS / UPS – Outer London)

About the role

Responsibilities of this Head of Maths role include:

To lead a team of staff in the delivery of the Maths Curriculum so that it engages, enthuses, motivates, and enables pupils to progress
Line management of departmental staff – foster an open and equitable culture and manage conflict (if applicable)
To collaboratively plan and prepare effective teaching schemes and lessons within the context of the school curriculum 
To fully implement all school policies for creating a culture of high expectations
To maintain regular and productive communication with pupils, parents, and carers, to report on progress, sanctions, and rewards and all other communications

To use regular assessments to set targets for pupils, monitor pupil progress towards individual targets and respond accordingly to the results of such monitoring.

Requirements for this Head of Maths position include:

Teaching qualification with QTS / QTLS (essential)
Evidence of being, or having the potential to be, an outstanding leader
Knowledge of curriculum with a proven ability to differentiate effectively
Ability to establish and maintain high quality planning and recording
Good inter-personal, communication, planning, and organisational skills
