Our client is a leading UK infrastructure and engineering business delivering critical projects that support the UK's transition to a low-carbon future. Due to continued growth and a significant business transformation programme, they are seeking an experienced Head of Major Projects to lead a high-performing division operating across the power and energy infrastructure sector.

The Opportunity

This is a strategically important leadership appointment with full responsibility for a business unit currently turning over approximately £100m, with ambitious plans for substantial growth over the coming years.

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of the operational, commercial and strategic performance of a major projects portfolio, overseeing the delivery of complex infrastructure schemes typically valued between £5m and £10m+.

The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams across project delivery, engineering, design and commercial functions, driving operational excellence, governance, performance and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Full P&L ownership of a £100m+ major projects division.
Lead the delivery of complex power and energy infrastructure projects across the UK.
Drive project performance, programme execution and operational excellence.
Embed governance, consistency and best practice across multiple delivery teams.
Lead and develop senior operational leaders and project directors.
Support strategic growth initiatives, key client relationships and future business planning.
Play a key role in shaping the future structure and direction of the wider business.

About You

We're looking for a proven infrastructure leader with significant experience delivering large-scale power, utilities or energy projects.

Key Requirements

10+ years' experience leading major infrastructure or power projects.
Strong track record delivering projects valued at £10m+.
Full P&L responsibility within a contractor, engineering or infrastructure environment.
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, commercial and project delivery functions.
Strong understanding of HV infrastructure, grid connections, substations, BESS and renewable energy projects.
Commercially astute with excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to operate effectively at both strategic and operational levels.
