Head of Maintenance

Description:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Maintenance to join a busy organisation on an immediate-start basis. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of maintenance services across a multi-site portfolio.

Head of Maintenance Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the day-to-day maintenance function.
Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
Ensure statutory compliance across building services and facilities.
Manage external contractors and service providers.
Monitor maintenance budgets and expenditure.
Drive health & safety best practices and compliance.
Support capital projects, refurbishments, and improvement works.
Lead, motivate, and develop maintenance staff.
Respond to urgent maintenance and operational issues as required.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and compliance documentation.

Head of Maintenance Requirements:

Previous experience in a senior maintenance, estates, facilities, or property management role.
Strong knowledge of building compliance, health & safety legislation, and statutory maintenance requirements.
Experience leading and developing maintenance or engineering teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong budget management and cost-control experience.
Relevant facilities, engineering, building services, or construction qualification desirable.
Full UK driving licence preferred.
Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) is essential and must be in place before starting.
Available for an immediate start.
