As we strive for excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Humanities with expertise in History to join our team.

Head of Humanities Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to lead our Humanities department as the Head of Humanities, with a particular focus on History. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, fostering academic excellence, and promoting a love for the subject among our students. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to make a significant impact within our school community.
Key Responsibilities for Head of Humanities :
Lead and manage the Humanities department, including overseeing the development of schemes of work, resources, and assessments.
Inspire and motivate staff to deliver engaging and challenging lessons that meet the needs of all students.
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to support their academic achievement and personal development.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
Collaborate with colleagues across the school to promote cross-curricular links and interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Keep abreast of developments in the field of History education and implement innovative teaching practices.
Establish effective communication channels with parents/carers to ensure their involvement in their child's education.
Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities, school events, and professional development opportunities.Qualifications and Experience:

A degree in History or a related field (a postgraduate qualification is desirable).
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Proven experience teaching History at the secondary level, with a track record of raising student achievement.
Previous leadership experience or a willingness to take on leadership responsibilities.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
