About the Role:
As the Head of History Department, you will be responsible for leading a team of dedicated history teachers, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across the department. You will play a pivotal role in curriculum development, staff development, and student achievement. Key Responsibilities as Head of History Department:
Provide dynamic and inspirational leadership to the History Department, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
Oversee the development and implementation of an engaging and comprehensive history curriculum that meets national standards and inspires students.
Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing strategies to support all learners in achieving their full potential.
Support and mentor history teachers, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
Ensure high standards of teaching, marking, and feedback within the department through regular monitoring and evaluation.
Head of History Department Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
Proven track record of successful history teaching at the secondary level, with experience in a leadership or management role preferred.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
In-depth knowledge of the history curriculum and a passion for the subject.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
