Job Title: Head of Finance
Appointment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: London OR Barcelona
Salary: Up to £130,000 + package (Negotiable depending on experience)
Package: 20% OTE Bonus plus more
The role demands expertise in key areas such as Treasury, Financial Control, Financial Reporting, Tax, and M&A activity, along with prior experience leading a small team.
Position Purpose:
The role involves supporting the business in pursuing profitable deals, ensuring projects are delivered on budget, and aiding the executive team in developing value-creating strategies. Responsibilities encompass financial forecasting, planning, governance, reporting, and managing a small finance team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Planning and Reporting:
Lead the Planning and Reporting team to deliver clear, accurate, and insightful forecasting & reporting. Manage the annual Budget and Long-Term Planning processes, ensuring alignment with achievable strategies. Develop high-quality reporting for the Board and Executive team, and define appropriate metrics and targets in partnership with the Executive Team.
Financial Controlling and Reporting:
Implement accounting policies and controls, oversee financial statement preparation, and maintain effective relationships with external auditors.
Executive Financial Support and Board Reporting:
Support business growth initiatives, develop agendas for committees, provide analysis to executives, and offer guidance on structuring, compliance, and accounting.
Taxation:
Provide high-quality tax advice, manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, and ensure tax-effective outcomes for significant transactions.
Treasury:
Monitor the capital structure and Treasury Strategy, execute refinancing on favorable terms, and assess impacts on business operations.
M&A:
Lead or support due diligence and review processes, identify appropriate advisors, and understand transaction implications.
Subsidiary Relationships:
Establish collaborative relationships with subsidiary stakeholders, identify areas of support, and allocate resources as needed.
Effective Teams:
Lead and develop an engaged, expert, and efficient Finance team with clear accountabilities and capability development plans.
Key Performance Measures & Scale of Position:
* Revenue growth
* Group TCV, Revenue, EBITDA, and IRR performance
* On-time, accurate Planning and Reporting
* Compliance with legal and statutory requirements
* Compliance with debt obligations and successful capital structure execution
Key Challenges:
* Support international development and growth
* Develop a high-performance team
* Create and implement P&L, balance sheet, and cash KPIs
* Contribute to strategic planning and business development
Formal Qualifications / Certificates / Licences Required:
* Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business accounting, or economics
* 10-15 years of senior finance and management experience
* Proven expertise in FP&A, corporate finance, M&A, treasury, and financial controlling
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Fluency in English and in French or Spanish
