Our client is a leading provider of Personal Finance, operating in 30+ countries.

The Role:

Reporting into the Chief Finance officer and working closely with the wider finance leadership team, the Head of Finance will take complete ownership of the financial activities of the entities to ensure strong adherence to policies, procedures and control requirements to meet the high standards for local, regulatory and group reporting. Leading on a transformation roadmap for the finance team will be crucial to ensure continuous improvements are undertaken to deliver value for the organisation

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing a high-quality financial accounting and reporting throughout the organisation. Key activity to lead on will be to increase financial awareness throughout the business

Responsible for strong adherence to financial policies and procedures (local and group), maintaining financial control across all finance teams

Responsible for working with various departments on all financial topics and ensuring the UK entity is fully aligned to all requests and requirements

Lead a team engaged in strong accounting and financial control activities, ensuring tight balance sheet control with all control accounts properly reconciled monthly.

Responsible for all financial controls for finance department and ensuring continuous risk control assessments are undertaken to adapt and maintain control environment to ensure risks managed correctly

Develop a clear strategy for the finance function aligned to the overall company and department targets to ensure key activities transform and work with team members to help achieve the transformation plan

Produce timely and accurate financial reports for all statutory and entities and ensuring all topics fully in control

Lead a finance team engaged in the preparation of financial analysis, building effective relationships with management across the business and providing valuable insight on key financial topics

Responsible for working with peer group on all financial activities and ensuring joined up positions on topics across all activities

Develop and deliver relevant and timely periodic reporting and analysis sufficient to enable the management team to understand financial performance and key KPIs for the functions

Develop detailed understanding for the business activities and proactively investigate topics to ensure risks and controls are adequately maintained

Ad hoc project work, and other support for finance and the wider business as requested from time to time.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Skills & Attributes:

Qualified Accountant.

Have held a senior Finance role in Banking/Financial Services.

Self-motivated.

IFRS

Tax

Financial analysis

Ability to liaise and influence all levels of management and work with other departments.

Experience leading teams and motivate, inspire, encourage and coach people.

Have experience in the key functions of finance; accounting, audit and performance analysis.

Project management skills: can lead a change management programme
