Head of Finance
Warwickshire
Up to £90,000 (DOE) + benefits
SF Partners are recruiting a Head of Finance for a large, established business with operations across multiple UK locations.
Despite the title, this isn't a traditional Head of Finance role centred around financial control or managing a large finance team. It's a highly commercial business partnering position, working closely with senior operational leadership and using financial insight to influence business performance.
You'll be embedded within the business, helping operational leaders understand what's driving performance and where opportunities exist to improve sales, margin, profitability and cash.
The role will include:
Partnering senior operational leaders to drive commercial and financial performance
Providing insight and constructive challenge around sales, margin, costs and profitability
Identifying trends, risks and opportunities and turning these into clear actions
Leading budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across your area
Developing and interpreting KPIs to improve operational decision-making
Providing analysis and modelling to support commercial and strategic decisions
Supporting initiatives focused on growth, productivity and performance improvement
Building strong relationships across finance, commercial and operational teams
We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong commercial finance or business partnering background.
You might currently be a Senior Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager, Senior Commercial Finance Manager or Head of Finance. The title is less important than your ability to influence senior stakeholders and demonstrate how you've used finance to improve business performance.
Experience within a multi-site, sales-led or operationally complex business would be particularly relevant.
You'll need to be comfortable getting underneath the numbers, asking the right questions and constructively challenging senior stakeholders. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be close to the commercial and operational decision-making rather than sitting within a traditional reporting-focused finance role.
