Boden Group is a leading Facilities Management Recruitment Agency currently seeking a Head Of Estimating for a Integrated Services company.
Head of Estimating (M&E skills Essential)
Full Time 40 hours per week. Office Based - Liverpool
Salary Negotiable + Car Allowance and amazing benefits
As the Head of Estimating, you will be leading the estimating department to calculate accurate bids and tenders. You will need to ensure the delivery of competitive and comprehensive project estimates, underpinning the company’s ability to secure new business and maintain its standing in the industry.
You will sit under "Energy services" for the Pre-Construction department manage a portfolio of clients in both public and private sectors. Their role is to accurately assess, estimate and complete design services for new projects in these markets, before handing over to our operations department for successful implementation.
The key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following tasks:
* Lead and develop the estimating team to achieve departmental goals.
* Oversee the preparation of bids, ensuring all estimates are acute, competitive, and aligned with client expectations and company objectives.
* Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and cost plans.
* Develop strategies with procurement to ensure we achieve the most competitive quotes by understanding current market trends.
* Manage multidisciplinary infrastructure tenders from conception through to completion, delivering tenders that meet project and business requirements.
* Build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
* Communicate effectively with all other departments.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Advanced in using typical estimating software packages.
* Cost planning knowledge and experience.
* Ability to lead a team of estimators and Sector Material Experts in winning work.
* Good management and motivational skills, delivering high standards of compliance.
* Excellent negotiation and diplomacy skills.
* Adaptable and flexible in your approach to work.
* Holding or capable of being accredited to Enhanced DBS prior to start date.
* A legal right to work in the UK.
* Recognised qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* Experience of preparing analytical bids for building services, de-carbonisation, and alternative energy systems within a similar role.
* Experience with complex bids.
* Excellent Leadership skills
* Expert level of MS Office tool suite is essential
