As the Head of Estates, you will lead and manage the Estates Management and Maintenance teams comprising 270 people across all garrisons. This encompasses overseeing Reactive Engineering, Planned Maintenance, Asset Management and Surveying, Estates Data & CAD Operators, Meter Reading team, and Communication & Information Services. Your responsibilities extend to ensuring compliant and safe estates in accordance with statutory requirements, engineering good practice, and our company's management processes.

A significant aspect of your role involves driving contractual and statutory compliance through the implementation of Planned Preventative Maintenance regimes, coordinating remedial activities, and ensuring the completion of Reactive Maintenance tasks in line with our contractual obligations. Beyond internal operations, you will play a pivotal role in fostering deep and effective relationships with our Army customers, ensuring operational excellence across all four garrisons.

Key Accountabilities:

Your leadership extends to managing and mentoring Estates General Managers and a CIS Manager across different garrisons. Ensuring that team members receive appropriate support, training, and development is a key aspect of your role. Upholding and enforcing quality, health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures is paramount. You will actively drive safe working practices and manage Safe Systems of Work for all support services activities. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering Health and Safety training and campaigns in line with business and operational requirements.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:

As an ideal candidate, an Electrical or Mechanical degree would be advantageous, and be a member of The Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management or equivalent professional membership. Holding NEBOSH General certification is crucial. Your senior operational leadership experience in managing employees in a multi-site business, coupled with extensive maintenance management experience of large estates, will be invaluable.

Your outstanding operational track record should reflect a focus on customer retention, revenue growth, and margin enhancement. Strong data analysis and IT system skills are a must, and your commercial acumen and financial numeracy will be significant assets. You are expected to exhibit strong leadership qualities in developing high-performing teams, coupled with highly tuned interpersonal skills that allow you to adapt to different cultural environments.
